Talent Hub Eastern Finland - Karelia University of Applied Sciences

Talent Hub Eastern Finland is a joint project based on cooperation between six educational institutions from different levels of education in the North Karelia and North Savo region. It is funded by the ESF+ and runs from 2023 to 2027. The project parties are the University of Eastern Finland, Karelia University of Applied Sciences, Savonia University of Applied Sciences, Riveria North Karelia Municipal Education and Training Consortium Finland, Savo Vocational College and Ylä-Savo Vocational College.

The common goal of educational institutions is to increase the employment of international students in the region after graduation, especially in sectors suffering from labour shortages. Entrepreneurship is one of these means of employment. The project has four work packages that educational institutions implement in their own sub-projects, in collaboration with each other.

Karelia UAS subproject 1.10.2023-31.12.2027 promotes Karelia’s strategic choice of ‘educational immigration’ and Talent Boost activities in a variety of ways.

Future Talents team

Make connections to local companies and earn credits for practical training! The team works as a Karelia UAS representative by marketing the skills and expertise of their study programmes and students.

Realistic Business Idea course

Receive personal guidance to reach the next stage in launching your business! The Realistic Business Idea course helps you build a business idea with a chance of success and growth. After successful completion of the course, you will be assisted in contacting people who can help you start and launch your business.

Realistic Business Idea course includes:
• 5 ECTS
• personal coaching and sparring

Continue being a part of Karelia UAS community after graduating! Update your skills, expand your networks or become a mentor.

Karelia alumni have a chance to be a part of our network of professionals and experts. By participating in alumni events, you can network with other alumni, promote your own employment and career development and keep in touch with former student friends. Alumni are frequently invited to contribute to the development of teaching and raise students’ awareness of working life for example as a visitor lecturer.

Alumni can maintain and develop their working life skills by completing free open university studies two years after their graduation. Alumni can also give back to Karelia acting as peer support or a mentor for students by sharing their own skills and experiences.
