Accessibility means that a website, web applications and social media channels can be used and understood smoothly. As a public actor, Karelia UAS must comply with the EU’s Web Accessibility Directive and the Finnish Digital Services Act.

Karelia UAS takes digital accessibility into account in various online services and platforms.

This accessibility statement has been conducted in 2020 and updated in 2024 We have evaluated the accessibility of the service ourselves.

This website was published in 2020. The website is not yet fully compliant. The most significant shortcomings are as follows:

  • some forms and files (e.g. pdf) that do not meet the accessibility requirements.
  • some video files are not accessible. These video files were published before September 23rd, 2020. These videos and files can be in an inaccessible format without a text equivalent.
  • some images may be missing alternative texts.

There may also be shortcomings in the clarity and comprehensibility of the content structure on some pages.

We are constantly working to improve accessibility.

Website also includes third-party applications and web sites. With regard to these, Karelia UAS strives to influence the accessibility, and therefore we want to hear about any accessibility shortcomings in them. This information will be provided to those responsible for the accessibility of the third-party web sites and applications in question.
