Karelia University of Applied Sciences received a total of 9 455 applications in the autumn joint application for higher education, which ended on September 11, 2024. Karelia UAS was chosen as the first choice by 1 167 applicants.
The clear leaders in Karelia UAS’s application results were the international programmes, International Business and Industrial Management, which were included in the autumn application for the first time.
Among the Finnish-language programmes, Karelia UAS had five social and health care degree programmes available, which are conducted as daytime or multi-modal studies: gerontology, public health nursing, social services, nursing, and physiotherapy. The most popular among these were the social services and nursing programmes.
Students are selected for the programmes through various selection methods, the most common being certificate-based selection and the entrance exams held at the end of October and beginning of November, namely the UAS entrance exam and the International UAS Exam. The results of the student selections will be published by November 21, 2024, at the latest. Studies will begin in January 2025.
