The one-year Karelia advanced ICT Pathway programme offers you latest skills and knowledge in ICT sector. This is a programme for web and mobile application development and artificial intelligence essentials. After finishing the programme, you are encouraged to apply for jobs in Finnish ICT companies.
Target groups
ICT students and experts who are working and studying in ICT sectors. The language level of students must be at least B2 according to the European Language Level standard.
Required pre-IT skills by the applicant:
- basics of computer programming
- knows what is human computer interaction and has skills to apply interaction design for user interface programming
- principles of distributed systems
- basics of information management and database management systems
- knows how to develop data models for representing user requirements
- knows and is able to use CRUD operations of Structured Query Language (SQL)
- basic knowledge and skills in software engineering
- knowledge and skills in Web programming with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Computer requirements for online leaners:
- 8 GB RAM
- 10 GB available disk space minimum
- 1280 x 800 screen resolution (minimum)
- Headphones and microphone
- Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit or 64-bit), or Mac OS X 10.10 (or higher), or Ubuntu 21.04 LTS (Another Linux has not been tried) o Ubuntu: GNOME or KDE desktop and 64-bit distribution capable of running 32-bit applications
- Possibility to install the necessary software for studies

Learning outcomes
Karelia ICT One-year programme brings you practical advanced ICT skills. After the internship training, you are able to gain all practical skills, competence and knowledge in the above courses to apply for jobs in Finnish ICT companies.
