Eligibility
You must have
- a qualification giving access to higher education
- and 30 credits of field specific (business, social and health sciences, engineering or multidisciplinary) preparatory training for higher education, in line with national recommendations. The preparatory studies must be completed by 31 May 2024.
Students are selected on the basis of their academic performance in a foreign-language preparatory course for university studies, without a separate selection test, according to the following selection criteria:
Selection criteria
Section 1: Average number of credits (30 credits in total) in foreign language preparatory course:
Preparation for higher education (6 credits), preparatory studies in mathematics (3 credits), preparatory studies in English (6 credits), preparatory studies in Finnish or Swedish (5 credits) and field-specific studies (10 credits) Minimum total score 2 points.
Section 2: Grade for the English language course in the preparatory training, (6 credits). Minimum total score 3 points.
Section 3: Grade for a mathematics course in preparatory education (3 credits). Minimum total score 2 points.
The selection is based on the total number of points obtained in these three sections. The total score must be at least seven points.
Scoring
Grade 5 = 5 points
Grade 4 = 4 points
Grade 3 = 3 points
Grade 2 = 2 points
Grade 1 = 0 points
In the event of a tie, the order of precedence shall be determined as follows:
- Application priority order
- Those who have completed field-specific studies in engineering will be prioritised for IM and ICT degrees and those who have completed business studies will be prioritised for the IB degree.
- The average grade of English language courses in a preparatory course.
If these criteria do not result in a ranking, the system will choose the student to be selected by drawing lots.

Fill in the application at Opintopolku.fi during the application period on 15.4. – 16.5.2024 at 15.00. You can choose up to three application options. Put your applications in order of preference.

The programmes will start in August 2024.
A separate application is covered by the one study place per term provision. You can only accept one place for a degree programme in the same semester.
